Sharon Springs began its interesting history as mineral water spa destination in 1825 and became a world famous spa destination until the Great Depression and national upheavals of the early 1900's.
Changes in transportation systems, the rise of the automobile culture, fires and other local and national events have all contributed to the rise and demise of this once internationally famous spa and resort destination.
The current renaissance and active development of Sharon Springs Village and its historic spa area is bringing excitement and new economic opportunity, and the town is dedicated to keeping the unique character and charm of the old spa, hotel, boarding house structures, while welcoming new business and tasteful growth.
